Duvet Construction

All of Ringsted's year-round and winter down comforters are constructed with baffle boxes: each chamber is separated with thin (2 1/4 inches) strips of fabric inside all 4 sides.

This ensures that down is evenly distributed against the duvet walls - and prevents the down clusters to not being flattened. This is in contrast to fixed-box or, stitched through construction.

The number of cassettes in the product varies in relation to its quantity of filling. Low fill quantities require additional cassettes in order to keep the down in place, while very warm winter duvets utilize fewer cassettes.

Before you buy a down comforter, this is a question to ask whether the product is baffle boxed, since it speaks for the quality.
